Kazuhiko Aoki produced the game, Masato Kato wrote most of the plot, while composer Yasunori Mitsuda scored most of the game before falling ill and deferring the remaining tracks to Final Fantasy series composer Nobuo Uematsu. Chrono Trigger 's development team included three designers that Square dubbed the "Dream Team": Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of Square's Final Fantasy series Yuji Horii, a freelance designer and creator of Enix's popular Dragon Quest series and Akira Toriyama, a freelance manga artist famed for his work with Dragon Quest and Dragon Ball. The company has also begun remastering many of its standalone classic RPGs from the 1990s, as well as spin-off entries from the Final Fantasy franchise like Chrono Cross.Chrono Trigger is a role-playing video game developed and published by Square for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1995. The tactical RPG is just the latest of Square Enix's offerings in the genre, having previously released titles such as Bravely Default and Octopath Traveller to relative success.
Famed composers Ramin Djawadi and Brandon Campbell created the game's orchestral soundtrack, known best for their work on TV smash hit Game of Thrones. The DioField Chronicle also features unique character designs by Taiki (Lord of Vermilion III, IV) and concept art by Isamu Kamikokuryo ( FINAL FANTASY XII, FINAL FANTASY XIII). Players will take control of a band of mercenaries known as the Blue Foxes, whose magical powers and strong battling capabilities put them at odds with the various warring factions. Its monopoly of this powerful mineral attracts the attention of the opposing Trovelt-Schoevian Empire and the Rowetale Alliance, who seek to claim a slice of the wealth and power for themselves. The game's plot will focus on the Kingdom of Alletain, rich in the mineral Jade, prized for its use as a base ingredient in magic and sorcery.
